Environmental Impact Assessments

We undertake Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs) in terms of the National Environmental Management Act (NEMA) 107 of 1998 and its associated regulations, or other relevant legislation outside of South Africa. Where listed activities are triggered, we manage the full authorisation process to obtain Environmental Authorisation from the competent authority prior to development.

Our assessments evaluate proposed project activities within the context of the receiving environment, identifying and rating potential impacts according to their nature, extent and significance. Where impacts can be avoided, we develop practical avoidance measures. Where impacts are unavoidable, we design mitigation strategies to reduce their severity to acceptable and legally compliant levels.

Our EIA services include:

  • Basic Assessments
  • Scoping and Environmental Impact Reporting
  • Environmental Management Programmes (EMPr)
  • Public Participation Processes
  • Amendment Applications
  • Environmental Feasibility and Due Diligence Assessments
  • Waste Licence Applications
  • Mining Applications
  • GPEMF Exclusion Applications
